Ghanaian Promoter Says Davido Hasn’t Fulfilled $5,000 Promise But Remains Grateful

Ghanaian music promoter Ananzo has opened up about a long-standing promise made by Nigerian superstar Davido, revealing that he is yet to receive the $5,000 the singer pledged to him.
Speaking during an interview on Onua TV, Ananzo expressed disappointment over the unfulfilled promise, suggesting that it may have been more of a publicity move than a genuine commitment.
“I haven’t received the $5,000 Davido promised me,” Ananzo said. “It felt like a stunt, but I won’t lie—his recognition changed everything for me.”
Despite the setback, Ananzo praised Davido for playing a pivotal role in his rise. He recalled a time when he struggled to survive, depending on handouts and doing menial jobs to get by. But everything changed after he began promoting Davido’s music.
According to him, the exposure led to a surge in social media followers, business opportunities, and deals worth far more than the promised sum.
“Even if Davido doesn’t give me the $5,000, I’m still grateful,” Ananzo said. “His recognition alone has brought me gigs, and with consistency, we can make a lot.”
He added that while the money would have helped, the lasting impact Davido made on his life and career is far more valuable.
