FRSC Tasks Corps Members On Road Safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC) Chief Commander, Paul B. Abiti has tasked the corps members of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 deployed to Lagos to ensure they adhere to safety precautions while on the road.
In a lecture that focused on promoting safe driving practices and pedestrian safety, Commander Abiti
stated the importance of being careful on the road and not loose focus so as not to get involved in road accidents.

He highlighted three critical areas: pedestrian safety, adherence to driving rules and the dangers associated with drunk driving. “Pedestrians must prioritize their safety by using pedestrian bridges and avoiding risky highway crossing,” he emphasized.
He therefore urged corps members to be cautious and vigilant on busy roads. For drivers, he stressed the importance of following speed limits, wearing seat belts, and avoiding distractions like phone use while behind the wheel.
Abiti also issued a strong warning against the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol, which is a leading cause of fatal road accidents.
He also implored corps members to obey all traffic rules and regulations, emphasizing the role they play in ensuring personal safety and the safety of others.
He encouraged FRSC vanguards to participate in monthly Community Development Service (CDS) meetings at the FRSC state office, where they could learn more about road safety initiatives and get involved in promoting road safety awareness in their communities.
