FRSC Honors Officer Babatunde Owoeye For Rejecting 104 Bribes In One Month

Assistant Route Commander Babatunde Owoeye has been honoured by the Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) for consistently rejecting bribes while on duty.

The recognition came during a ceremony at the state command headquarters on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after Owoeye turned down bribes from traffic offenders on 104 occasions in July alone. He also refused 18 bribe attempts in May and 38 in June, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to ethical service.

Sector Commander Leye Adegboyega praised Owoeye, noting that his integrity reflects the FRSC’s long-standing policy of zero tolerance for corruption and extortion. He added that the commendation aligns with the anti-corruption drive of Corps Marshal Sheu Mohammed and the commission’s efforts to strengthen professionalism and accountability.

“For his exceptional integrity, Assistant Route Commander Babatunde J. Owoeye has been awarded a commendation and a cash gift of N250,000. He recorded 104 ‘Attempt to Corrupt Marshal on Duty’ cases in July alone — a feat unprecedented in the command’s history,” Adegboyega said.

The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to rewarding honesty and maintaining discipline among its officers.
