Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has called on members of the Kogi State House of Assembly to give full support to his successor, Governor Usman Ododo.

A video circulating on social media shows Bello instructing lawmakers to approve all proposals presented by the governor.

“As you are going in there now, go and cooperate with the Speaker and other members of the House of Assembly of Kogi State, and be part of those who support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. Governor Ododo, Bello’s political godson, assumed office in January 2024 after serving as Auditor-General for Local Governments in Kogi State.

Bello, meanwhile, is currently facing multiple fraud and money laundering charges from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He is accused of misappropriating over ₦80 billion in state funds through questionable transactions, including acquiring luxury properties in Abuja and Dubai and paying foreign school fees via proxies.
