FMC Jabi welcomes first Baby of 2025

Nigerians have renewed calls for the recruitment of additional health workers to address the growing healthcare needs of the population.
The plea was made by patients at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Jabi, Abuja, during the “Patients Appreciation Day” and celebration of the first baby born in 2025. The event was organized by the hospital’s management.
Patients Bashar Ado, Peace Emmanuel, and Adeola Ewedayo expressed satisfaction with the professionalism and quality of care at the Federal Government-owned facility. However, they highlighted concerns over staff shortages and the need for improved toilet facilities.
Hafsat Bello, the mother of the hospital’s first baby of the year—a boy delivered at 5:40 a.m. commended the medical team for their dedication and care.
Dr. Bioku Muftau, Head of Clinical Services at FMC Jabi, reassured patients that the recruitment of additional staff was underway, in line with Federal Government directives.
The Head, Medical Social Work, Erdoo Iorfa, encouraged philanthropic Nigerians to support the hospital, particularly in assisting indigent patients.
As part of the celebrations, patients received various gifts, including sanitary towels, children’s toys, kitchen items, and blankets.
This event underscores the importance of investment in healthcare infrastructure and personnel to meet the demands of Nigeria’s growing population.
