Fintiri Raises NYSC Allowance in Adamawa to N30,000

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has approved an increase in the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state from N20,000 to N30,000.
He announced the raise on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2025 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.
“As a government, we are committed to improving the welfare of corps members,” Fintiri said. “This increment aligns with our promise to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere for you.”
The governor emphasized his administration’s ongoing efforts to support youth development, noting that the increase complements other welfare initiatives such as food support and general wellbeing.
He also disclosed that plans are underway for a new NYSC orientation camp in the state. He directed the NYSC State Coordinator to involve corps members with backgrounds in architecture, civil engineering, and quantity surveying in supervising the project to allow them contribute to its execution.
Welcoming the new corps members, Fintiri described them as critical to advancing state policies, particularly in the education sector. He urged them to stay disciplined, participate actively in community development, and build strong relationships with their host communities.
“As bonafide citizens of Adamawa during your service year, you are expected to uphold discipline, engage in community development, and cultivate healthy interactions,” he said.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Youths and NYSC Governing Board Chairman, Wali Yakubu, advised the corps members to take the orientation course seriously, obey camp rules, and embrace skills acquisition for post-service self-reliance.
NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Osoro Caroline, praised the corps members for their discipline and participation, and lauded Governor Fintiri as a “visionary leader and a beacon of youth empowerment in Nigeria.”
The event featured the oath of allegiance administered by Chief Judge of Adamawa, Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman, and a presentation of the NYSC journal to the governor.
