FG Vows Justice for Worshippers Killed In Katsina Mosque Attack

The Federal Government has promised to ensure that those behind the brutal killing of worshippers in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State are brought to justice.
The attack occurred on Tuesday when gunmen stormed a mosque during prayers, leaving at least 32 people dead. Local officials said the assault was carried out by bandits seeking revenge after some of their members were ambushed by residents.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, strongly condemned the killings, describing them as “callous and barbaric.”
He assured that the security agencies had already begun pursuing the perpetrators. “Security forces are already on the trail of the criminals, and no stone will be left unturned until they are apprehended and held accountable for their actions,” the minister declared.
The statement further noted: “The Government assures Nigerians that justice will be swift and decisive, and that such acts of terror will never be allowed to take root in the country.”
Idris stressed that the assault was not only a crime against the people of Malumfashi but also “an assault on our shared humanity and values as a nation.” He reiterated the Federal Government’s resolve to continue the fight against terrorism across the country.
On behalf of President Bola Tinubu, the minister extended condolences to the victims’ families, the Malumfashi community, and the Katsina State Government.
“Their grief is our grief, and the Government stands with them at this dark hour. May the Almighty grant the departed eternal rest and console the bereaved with the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” the statement said.
