FG Urges Striking Health Workers To Return As Talks Set For Friday

The Federal Government has called on striking health workers, particularly nurses, to end their industrial action, assuring that the issues at the heart of the dispute can be resolved through dialogue.
Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, made the appeal on Wednesday while addressing journalists after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He revealed that the government will meet with the leadership of both nurses and doctors on Friday to resolve the matters that triggered the strike.
Prof. Pate stated that the government has already reviewed the concerns raised by the nurses and has taken steps to address them.
He also announced that the FEC approved the establishment of a new Oncology Centre at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, noting that the Tinubu-led administration is committed to transforming Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
