FG Temporarily Suspends Paramilitary Recruitment, to Reopen Portal July 21

The Federal Government has temporarily halted the ongoing recruitment process into several of its paramilitary agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
This development was confirmed in a statement dated July 16, 2025, by the Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Major General A.M. Jibril (rtd), who announced that the recruitment portal would be reopened on Monday, July 21, 2025.
“As part of an effort to optimize the efficiency of its system, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announces that the portal dedicated to the recruitment into its paramilitary agencies has been temporarily suspended. The portal will be available again from Monday, July 21st, 2025,” Jibril stated.
According to him, the pause is necessary to enhance the system’s ability to process the large volume of applications and ensure that the entire recruitment process remains smooth and credible.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” he explained.
He also acknowledged the strong interest shown by Nigerian youths in joining the services, assuring applicants that the Board remains fully committed to conducting a process that is fair, transparent, and in line with national standards.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process,” he added.
