Jennifer Edema Elohor, a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was violently attacked and stripped naked by operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, in Anambra State.

A video circulating online shows armed vigilante members storming a corps members’ lodge in July 2025, assaulting Elohor and several of her colleagues. In the footage shared on Monday, the operatives can be seen beating Elohor, stripping her, brandishing guns, and hurling degrading insults.

The Haven360 Foundation, which supports victims of the attack, stated that the incident took place on July 23, 2025, when the vigilante operatives accused corps members of cybercrime activities despite them displaying their NYSC uniforms and identity cards.

Condemning the assault as a gross human rights violation, the foundation called on the Anambra State Government to identify and prosecute the perpetrators. It also urged the Federal Government to intervene, ensure justice, and provide reparations for the victims.

The foundation said, “We strongly condemn the brutal assault and violation of rights of NYSC members by operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi or ‘Agunechemba Vigilante Group’ in Anambra State. On July 23, 2025, these state actors stormed the corps lodge, accusing members of being ‘Yahoo people’ despite their immediate production of NYSC ID cards and uniforms.

“The assault was particularly egregious in the case of Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped naked, and left exposed and covered in blood. Victims were subjected to unsavoury, sexually degrading words and actions, including threats of sexual violation.”
