Father Of Late UTME Candidate Demands Release Of Daughter’s True Result

Femi Opesusi, father of 19-year-old Timilehin Opesusi who tragically took her own life after receiving her 2025 UTME result, has made a heartfelt plea to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to release what he believes is his daughter’s accurate score.
In an emotional interview with Channels Television, Mr. Opesusi accused JAMB of withholding or manipulating Timilehin’s exam result, insisting the published score did not reflect her true performance.
Timilehin, who lived with her older sister in Ikorodu, Lagos, was one of over 300,000 candidates affected by a nationwide technical issue that disrupted the 2025 UTME across multiple centres. While she scored 190 in the 2024 UTME, her 2025 result was recorded as 146, a discrepancy that left her deeply upset.
“She kept telling me, ‘Daddy, this is not my result,’” Mr. Opesusi recalled. Despite his efforts to reassure her that the matter could be resolved, tragedy struck just hours later.
“They have never contacted me, never granted me an interview, nor given any explanation. I don’t want to see them. All I want is my daughter’s true result,” he said.
He stressed that he is not seeking compensation or an apology but only the transparency he believes his late daughter deserves.
