Farmers–Herders Clash Kills One, Injuries Several in Bauchi

Tension in Tafawabalewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State Again following an alleged attack by suspected Fulani herders on four farmers while working on their farmland. The attack reportedly left one person dead and three others injured.
the National chairman of the Zaar Youth Development Association, Ga’ Allah Daniel Confirmed the incident to journalists saying the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the mortuary, while the injured victims were rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, for treatment together with three others who sustained injuries in a similar attack yesterday.
According to him, all the victims are from Gumel, a village on the outskirts of Tafawabalewa Local Government.
The victims; Esther Amos, 58, Naomi Sabo, 37, and Emmanuel Manasseh, 16 were attacked while working on their farm.
The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police has directed tactical teams, including Operation Restore Peace (ORP), the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), the Rapid Response Squad (RSS), and nearby Police divisions, to reinforce security in the area and restore calm.
He further disclosed that security operatives have since been deployed, with about seven Hilux patrol vehicles stationed in Tafawabalewa town to restore calm.
While calling on residents to remain peaceful, the youth leader described the attack as highly condemnable, warning that the incident has already heightened tension in the area.
