Falz Denies Romantic Ties With Bobrisky, Demands Retraction Over Defamation

Nigerian rapper Falz has shut down rumors of a romantic relationship with controversial crossdresser Bobrisky, calling the claims baseless and defamatory.
The clarification comes amid his ongoing legal battle with social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), who had leaked an alleged phone call between Falz and Bobrisky during the latter’s time in detention. The leak sparked widespread speculation about the nature of their interaction.
In response, Falz filed a defamation lawsuit against VDM. During an interview on Arise TV, he confirmed that the case is still in court, with VDM yet to submit a formal defense. He added that a preliminary objection challenging the court’s jurisdiction had been dismissed.
“There’s a substantive suit filed by myself and my father. Their objection was thrown out, so the court will either proceed or wait for them to enter a defense,” Falz said.
Addressing his communication with Bobrisky, Falz clarified that there was no prior relationship and that the crossdresser had reached out on Instagram seeking help.
“People reach out all the time. He said he needed assistance, and I listened out of compassion. It wasn’t anything special,” Falz explained.
Reflecting on the fallout, Falz admitted the incident has made him more cautious. “I helped out of empathy, but I’ve learned my lesson. I’ll be more careful going forward,” he added.
