ESPN Drops Shannon Sharpe After Lawsuit Settlement With Ex-Girlfriend

ESPN has reportedly cut ties with longtime sports analyst Shannon Sharpe following the settlement of a $50 million lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend, who accused him of sexual assault and physical abuse.
Sharpe had earlier stepped away from his duties on April 24, 2025, citing a need to focus on his family and respond to the serious accusations. At the time, ESPN publicly supported his decision, acknowledging the sensitivity of the situation.
The woman behind the lawsuit, an OnlyFans model, has since announced her retirement after what she described as having “cashed out” from the legal battle.
Sharpe, who joined ESPN in 2016, gained prominence as a bold and insightful NFL analyst, especially on First Take, where he regularly debated top sports topics.
Neither ESPN nor Sharpe has released an official statement about the contract termination as of now.
