Enugu Youths Set Native Doctor’s House, Shrine Ablaze Over Alleged Human Rituals

A native doctor identified as Ezeani, popularly known as “E Dey Play, E Dey Show,” has reportedly been attacked by angry youths in Ezeagu, Enugu State, following allegations of involvement in human rituals.
According to viral posts shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @agnes_nwanneka, a mob of irate youths stormed Ezeani’s residence, setting fire to his house, shrine, and other properties. Multiple videos posted online show scenes of chaos, with large crowds ransacking the property and flames engulfing several structures.
The allegations suggest that Ezeani was using human beings for ritual purposes—a claim that, as of the time of reporting, remains unverified. No concrete evidence has been presented to substantiate the accusations. Reports indicate that Ezeani may have fled the area before the mob arrived.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions across social media. While some users praised the youths’ actions, others condemned the rise of mob justice and called for due process and thorough investigations by the authorities.
Comments under the viral post reflect a range of emotions, from anger and support to skepticism and criticism:
- @OG_BENZEMA_: “All these kind people no need judgement. Just off them immediately.”
- @musk_give_away: “Jobless youths… Why not invite the authorities?”
- @DDiQ77index: “Nothing like human ritual in Nigeria, it’s just organ harvest these dread-heads are doing with Malaysia-Nigeria crooks.”
- @AzubuikeCh51830: “They should move to Eze Fellow’s house and hotel next. They’re all the same.”
- @rhineheart_Hart: “Nothing good has ever come out of this region—always bad, sad, evil news.”
