Emegha Dismisses Opposition Coalition, Says APC Can’t be Unseated

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha (JP) says his party is not panicking about any coalition by the opposition members in the country, stressing that APC can’t be unseated.
Chief Emegha made this known when journalists in their numbers visited him in his office yesterday for an interview following the political developments in the country days ago, where some political players in opposition formed a coalition under African Democratic Congress (ADC) to unseat APC in the next general elections.
“We are not panicking about any coalition because my party is with the masses. Those forming coalition are working in vain as they can’t unseat APC come 2027.
“Any man that has good ideas can’t be jumping from one party to another every year in the name of opposition or coalition. When it is not them, they seek coalition. It must not be you all the time”.
Chief Emegha said the coalition wouldn’t hold water in Ebonyi that the political players in the state are not interested in such as the governor is leading well and that masses are for him.
“In Ebonyi, we are fully prepared. Even if the coalition is having effect in any other place, it can’t hold water in this state because the governor, Rt Hon Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is doing marvelously well with ground-breaking achievements and the masses are for him because of that.
“The governor runs all inclusive governanc. He has listening ears to doing the right things and the people have nothing against him as to think of coalition”.
He stated that the APC in the state is committed in collapsing any form of opposition, adding that a house of representatives member in the state is set to defect to the APC in weeks to come.
“We are still committed in collapsing any form of opposition in the state. I have been in touch with the remaining few members of the opposition. In weeks to come, a house of representatives member will officially defect to our party. I said weeks, not months”.
While reacting to how the party can manage clash of interests during primaries as the state is driving into one party system, Chief Emegha noted that the party has a stated pattern of doing things, to reconcile every interest for the good of the party, stressing that the governor knows the best way to handle such.
“The governor is the leader of the party in the state and he knows who fits in well for any position, he knows the popular candidates and he will always act for the interest of the masses. So, our party will produce the best candidates that will serve the people well. Everything will also be done in line with the party’s guidelines”.
