Amid growing concerns over corruption’s impact on national development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called on Nigerian youths, especially corps members, to actively support the anti-corruption crusade from the grassroots.

Addressing members of the 2025 Batch B Stream 1 at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, Mr. Babatunde Sulaiman, Head of Public Affairs at the EFCC Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, described the NYSC as a vital platform to inspire a generation committed to transparency and accountability.

He urged the corps members to reject corrupt practices and embrace integrity, noting that Nigeria’s global reputation has been damaged by widespread corruption.

“Choose creativity, discipline, and hard work over shortcuts like internet fraud,” Sulaiman advised, emphasizing the importance of setting a positive example and educating peers about the dangers of corruption.

He also introduced the Eagle Eye App, a tool that enables Nigerians to report suspicious activities anonymously, and encouraged the corps members to make use of it in promoting accountability.

Sulaiman reaffirmed the EFCC’s dedication to restoring Nigeria’s image since its establishment in 2003 but stressed that meaningful progress can only be achieved with the full involvement of the youth.
