EFCC Raids Obasanjo Library Hotel In Abeokuta, Arrests Suspected Internet Fraudsters

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission reportedly raided the Green Legacy Hotel within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library premises in Abeokuta, Ogun State, arresting several youths suspected of internet fraud.
According to PUNCH Online, the operation took place in the early hours of Sunday during a pool party at the library. The raid comes just five days after EFCC operatives from the Ibadan Zonal Directorate arrested a suspected internet fraudster with two locally-made pistols during a sweep at K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro, where 55 suspects were taken into custody.
A viral video from Sunday’s operation showed guests fleeing as gunshots rang out. Reports indicate that the EFCC seized over 20 luxury cars and other valuables. Sources claimed the raid was carried out by operatives from the Lagos Directorate.
An X user, A. Ayomide, recounted leaving the venue just minutes before the raid, saying he later received calls that EFCC had stormed the location.
The Managing Director of OOPL Ventures, Vitalis Ortese, confirmed the incident but provided no further details. “Yes, they did. There was an incident this morning. We will find out and we will let you know,” he said.
EFCC spokespersons Ayo Oyewole and Dele Oyewale both said they would confirm the details and respond accordingly.
