Edojobs Launches 3-Month Fashion Design Training for Youth in Edo Central

In a move aimed at building sustainable livelihoods and promoting youth enterprise, the Edo State Skills Development Agency, popularly known as Edojobs, has unveiled a new fashion design training programme for residents of Edo Central Senatorial District.
The training, scheduled to begin on July 4, 2025, will run for three months and take place at the Edojobs Centre, Along Police Station Road, Uromi. The sessions are set to begin daily at 9:00 AM, and only 40 participantswill be selected for this cohort.
According to Edojobs, the initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to equip Edo youth with practical, income-generating skills in high-demand sectors. “This intensive program is designed to empower participants with practical fashion design skills that can help launch or grow their careers in the fashion industry,” the agency said in an official announcement.
The training will focus on hands-on garment construction, sewing techniques, design principles, and basic fashion entrepreneurship—equipping learners with the knowledge needed to either gain employment or start their own fashion businesses. The programme is particularly targeting young people who are either unemployed or seeking to upgrade their vocational skills to become self-reliant.
Edojobs noted that the programme also aligns with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s broader economic development agenda, which includes expanding access to vocational education, promoting youth entrepreneurship, and supporting MSME growth across Edo State.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early due to limited slots. Registration can be completed at the Edojobs Centre in Uromi or online via the official link: [https://bit.ly/edojobstrainingregistration]
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
This latest opportunity adds to the growing list of free skills acquisition programmes rolled out by Edojobs in recent years covering areas such as ICT, agriculture, solar energy, and construction.
With fashion continuing to thrive as one of Nigeria’s most vibrant creative sectors, this training offers participants a pathway to economic empowerment, especially in regions where formal employment remains scarce.
For many in Edo Central, the upcoming training could serve as a stepping stone to financial independence, and a launchpad for turning creativity into a sustainable business.
