Ebonyi Man Urges Peter Obi to Back His VP Ambition in 2027

A Lagos-based businessman and political commentator, Jeremiah Nworu Obaji, has sparked conversation online following a bold statement in which he urged former presidential candidate Peter Obi to step aside from any vice-presidential ambition in the 2027 elections and instead support him as the running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
In a social media post, Obaji proposed a strategic alliance in which Obi would play a kingmaker role similar to that of President Bola Tinubu in 2015.
“Instead of Mr. Peter Obi becoming Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in 2027, I suggest he should take a strategic role by nominating me to be Atiku’s running mate,” Obaji wrote.
“After we complete one term, Obi can run for president in 2031 with our full support.”

Obaji went on to pledge absolute loyalty to Obi, stating, “I’m ready to sign any agreement with him for my 100 percent loyalty.”
Although Obaji is not a mainstream political figure, his statement reflects growing interest among emerging voices in influencing national political strategy.
