Ebonyi ADC to Hold Primaries for 2026 Council Elections on February 2

The Ebonyi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that it will conduct its primaries for the 2026 local government council elections on Monday, February 2, 2026.
The primaries are expected to produce the party’s candidates for the chairmanship and councillorship positions across the state’s local government areas.
In a statement released on Sunday and signed by the state chairman of the party, Dr Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, the ADC said the exercise forms part of its preparations ahead of the forthcoming council polls.
According to the statement, the party has also opened the sale of nomination forms to interested aspirants seeking to contest under its platform.
“The Ebonyi State ADC primaries to elect candidates for the 2026 council elections will hold tomorrow, February 2, 2026,” the statement read. “Interested persons who wish to purchase ADC forms for councillorship or chairmanship positions are advised to visit the party’s state secretariat.”
The party noted that its state secretariat, located at No. 62 Old Enugu Road, Kpiri-Kpiri, Ebonyi State, will be open on Saturday to accommodate prospective aspirants.
Local government elections in Ebonyi State are expected to take place later in 2026, with political parties intensifying internal processes to select candidates.
