The Ebonyi State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Saturday, August 9, 2025, convened a high-level strategic meeting with leaders of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), political support groups, and the thirteen Local Government Chairmen of the party at the State Party Secretariat, 62 Old Enugu Express Road, Abakaliki.

This was contained in a statement signed by Prince Igube Ejiofor U., Head of Media & Publicity for the ADC in Ebonyi State, who described the gathering as a unifying platform for all progressive forces committed to advancing the party’s mission of taking over leadership in Ebonyi State and, ultimately, Nigeria. He noted that the ADC is regarded by its members as “the vehicle through which Nigeria will be rescued come 2027,” and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusivity, grassroots mobilisation, and collective action.

In her opening remarks, the State Chairman, Dr. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, expressed deep appreciation to all participants, particularly those making consistent and meaningful contributions to the party’s growth. She stressed that unity among all allied organisations and groups is essential in building a formidable political force capable of dislodging the ruling APC and steering Nigeria in a new direction. While pledging support for all genuine progressive initiatives, she cautioned that any actions or motives contrary to the collective interest would be firmly resisted.

The session featured interactive engagements with Local Government Chairmen and Secretaries, who presented reports detailing significant progress in expanding ADC’s grassroots structures down to the polling unit level. While certain challenges were identified, they were addressed through strategic deliberations to ensure sustained growth.
