Ebonyi ADC Holds Strategic Meeting With NGOS, CSOS, Others

The Ebonyi State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Saturday, August 9, 2025, convened a high-level strategic meeting with leaders of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), political support groups, and the thirteen Local Government Chairmen of the party at the State Party Secretariat, 62 Old Enugu Express Road, Abakaliki.
This was contained in a statement signed by Prince Igube Ejiofor U., Head of Media & Publicity for the ADC in Ebonyi State, who described the gathering as a unifying platform for all progressive forces committed to advancing the party’s mission of taking over leadership in Ebonyi State and, ultimately, Nigeria. He noted that the ADC is regarded by its members as “the vehicle through which Nigeria will be rescued come 2027,” and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusivity, grassroots mobilisation, and collective action.
In her opening remarks, the State Chairman, Dr. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, expressed deep appreciation to all participants, particularly those making consistent and meaningful contributions to the party’s growth. She stressed that unity among all allied organisations and groups is essential in building a formidable political force capable of dislodging the ruling APC and steering Nigeria in a new direction. While pledging support for all genuine progressive initiatives, she cautioned that any actions or motives contrary to the collective interest would be firmly resisted.
The session featured interactive engagements with Local Government Chairmen and Secretaries, who presented reports detailing significant progress in expanding ADC’s grassroots structures down to the polling unit level. While certain challenges were identified, they were addressed through strategic deliberations to ensure sustained growth.
Notable attendees included:
- Comrade Okey Idenyi (Obedient Movement/COPDEM)
- Comrade Onyibe Chinedu (Young Nigerian Voice)
- Oji Uzodmma
- Comrade Kingsley O. Ebeh
- Okey Darlington O. (COPDEM)
- Hon. Nwakpuke Azubuike (The Great Ezza Pillars)
- Nwojiji Ejike (YNC)
- Hon. Mr. Chidiebere (ATM)
- Eze Chigozie Ada (NYFA)
- Hon. Hassan Oluchi (NYFA)
- Hon. Dr. Frank U. (NYFA)
- Hon. Onwe Ifeoma L. (ATM)
- Comrade Henry Ikechukwu Mkpuma (ADC Grassroot Network)
- Hon. Deacon Okpo (PDP Chieftain)
- Hon. Mrs. Otuu Patience (Ozurumba Worldwide)
…alongside all Local Government Chairmen and Secretaries.
Dr. Adibe urged all support groups to align their activities with official party structures at the local government, ward, and polling unit levels. She emphasised that while the contributions of allied groups are invaluable, the ADC’s official structures must remain under the direct control of the party leadership.
As part of the mobilisation strategy, membership cards and official registers were distributed to Local Government Chairmen with instructions to intensify sensitisation and membership registration efforts across the state.
The meeting concluded with renewed enthusiasm, a strengthened sense of unity, and a collective resolve to secure electoral victory for the ADC in the coming elections.
