Davido Declares ‘I Am Igbo By Blood’ in Response to Tribal Comment

Nigerian music star Davido has publicly declared his Igbo heritage while responding to a tribal comment on social media.

A user on X, @yakbel, had criticized the singer for associating closely with Igbo people, warning that such ties could lead to betrayal.

The post read in part: “Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest… Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025… you can never satisfy Ibos ooo.”

In response, Davido simply wrote: “lol I AM IGBO by blood.”

The comment came after Davido’s recent public appearance with legendary highlife artist Bright Chimezie in Lagos.
