Davido Claps Back at Fan Who Accused Him of Promoting Cultism

Afrobeats star Davido has responded bluntly to a fan who accused him of promoting cultism, sparking fresh conversations on social media about the influence of celebrities.
The fan, posting under the handle @vardysteveayo, called out the singer on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“I love Davido and all that. But I’ll say it again—he’s always overdoing at times.
Today he’s actively encouraging and promoting cultism, smh. Omooo…
As for una wey be real fans, make una continue dey defend some nonsense. Shey ee gbo?”
In response, Davido fired back with a dismissive reply:
“That one nah ur papa business.”
The singer’s sharp retort quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. While some applauded him for not entertaining what they considered a baseless accusation, others felt the issue was too sensitive to be brushed off so lightly.
The exchange has since fueled debate online, with fans divided over whether Davido should have offered a more measured response or if his blunt dismissal was justified.
