Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has issued a fresh warning to truck drivers over the unauthorized use of its logo on vehicles, stressing that such practices mislead the public and damage the company’s reputation.

The company noted that despite repeated cautions, some drivers unaffiliated with Dangote continue to brand their trucks with its logo, sometimes for personal gain. It added that incidents involving such vehicles have been wrongly linked to the company, causing embarrassment.

To curb the misuse, Dangote said it will intensify monitoring in partnership with law enforcement agencies and take strict legal action against offenders.

“We have repeatedly cautioned truckers to refrain from using our logo on unauthorised vehicles. Moving forward, we will increase vigilance and take decisive legal action against misuse of our brand identity, particularly concerning vehicles unaffiliated with the Dangote Group,” the company stated.

The group also urged the public and media to verify reports before attributing accidents or misconduct to its fleet.

Dangote operates one of the continent’s largest commercial trucking operations, with over 12,000 trucks in Nigeria, including more than 3,000 owned by contractors. On average, about 6,000 vehicles are on the road daily, supporting the company’s logistics chain and sustaining more than 36,000 direct and indirect jobs.
