Dancer Kaffy Says Being A Single Mother Comes With Challenges, Urges Society To Rethink Stigma

Published

on

Dancer Kaffy has opened up about the struggles she faces as a single mother of two following her divorce, revealing the societal stigma that often comes with parenting while single.

She expressed frustration that many men are hesitant to date her because of her children, insisting that a divorced woman who has worked on herself can be a stronger and more grounded partner than someone who has never been married. Kaffy also highlighted that many marriages today end in separation, challenging the notion that a woman with children is less desirable.

She emphasized that real love should bring peace and security, not anxiety, and critiqued the romanticized idea that “butterflies in the tummy” signify true love, explaining that such feelings can sometimes be a trauma response.

Kaffy said:
“I’ve had somebody tell me because I’m a single mother, I can’t even think about dating me because I have two children.

99% of the people that criticize me about my marriage are either not married today or have left their marriages. What makes you think that a woman who has been divorced isn’t the better candidate if she has worked on herself? What guarantee is there that two single people today aren’t going to be divorced tomorrow?

Why do people feel like they need to marry ‘fresh’? Over 70% of marriages crash. Real love brings peace, not butterflies. Real love is not supposed to make you anxious.

I’m 45, but I’ve spent the last 10 years of my adult life trying to heal. My children were watching, and I had to make choices that were responsible. I know my worth as a woman. I don’t sleep around or do casual relationships. I’m focused on building a life grounded in love and responsibility, despite the challenges I’ve faced.”
