Corps Members to Enjoy Free Healthcare Throughout Service Year – NYSC

The 2023 Batch “C” Stream II corps members currently undergoing Orientation Course at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja, have been assured of free medical care during service year.
This was made known during the Corps Welfare and Health Services lecture today by Mrs Awolola Oluwakemi, the Head of Corps Welfare and Health Services Branch of the scheme in Lagos.
According to the Assistant Director, who is also the Head of Clinic on Camp, Corps members are beneficiaries of the insurance scheme and must take cognizance of that by taking advantage of the scheme which has been paid for by the government.
She charged them to visit any NHIA accredited hospital within Lagos with their NHIA codes, stating all information needed to access free medical care during service are on their dashboard and those not directly accessible to them will be given them in the course of the orientation exercise.
Mrs Awolola who also shared information about the Corps Welfare and Health Services Branch told the corps that they do have any right to any other leave during service year except the statutory ones which must be secured upon authorization by the State Coordinator or the Director-General as the case may be. She urged them not to engage in unnecessary and authorized journey during the service year.
