Comfort Emmanson’s Father Speaks Out After Daughter’s Airport Ordeal

Following the distressing incident involving his daughter, Comfort Emmanson, at the airport, her father, Godwin Emmanson Mbok, has opened up about his shock, anger, and anguish.
In an emotional interview, he recounted seeing the viral footage of his daughter being forcibly removed from the Ibom Air flight. “The first day I saw this thing, I told myself I would go home. But I tried all my courage to send my child to school on my own,” he said, highlighting the sacrifices he made to provide for her education.
Godwin expressed confusion and frustration over the incident, questioning, “Is it because I don’t have money? Is it because I don’t have enough money? Even now, I’m so provoked, I don’t even know exactly what to say. They rubbish us. They tarnish our image. I don’t know how these people are going to pay my bills.”
He also condemned the humiliation Comfort suffered, saying, “They stripped my child naked. He didn’t steal. He didn’t do anything. The children were mere arguments. How can you strip somebody’s child naked? Who posted it? How does it happen?”
The emotional toll of the ordeal on him was clear. “As I’m sitting down here, I’m not myself. I don’t feel like eating. I do anything,” he admitted, questioning the government’s role: “What has the government done about this? Is it because of religion that they decided to act this way?”
Concluding his statement, Godwin demanded justice and accountability, emphasizing, “I’m not happy about this. No matter how they feel, the situation must be addressed.”
His interview underscores the emotional and psychological impact the airport incident has had on Comfort Emmanson’s family, highlighting the urgent need for a thorough investigation and corrective action.
