CIM Outlines Responsibilities and Expectations

The Assistant Director and head of the Corps Inspection and Monitoring Branch (CIM) Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma has addressed corps members of the 2024 Batch B stream II at Lagos Camp.
She spoke on their responsibilities, expectations, and duties. This is as they prepare to embark on their Primary Assignment.

She stated that the Corps Inspection and Monitoring (CIM) branch plays a vital role in supervising corps members after orientation.
It also supports them post-orientation. It ensures they adhere to their assigned postings. It also helps resolve any work-related challenges and maintain a positive relationship with their employers.
The Assistant Director CIM elaborated on the post-orientation procedures. He explained that corps members must meet with their employers to confirm their postings. They must also submit acceptance letters, register with LGIs, and participate in a CDS group.
She also stressed that corps members must navigate a rigorous approval chain for travel requests. She noted that service breaks are not permissible throughout their service year.
In addition, Mrs Ehimwenma highlighted the critical nature of monthly biometric submissions and physical thumbprints for allowance processing.
The Assistant Director warned that corps members who fail to meet these requirements for three consecutive months will face re-mobilisation. This includes being marked as an abscondee.
She equally expressed that through its inspections, the CIM branch promotes compliance. It encourages corps members to uphold the highest standard of integrity.
They should report any difficulties or issues. They should also exhibit professionalism in all aspects of their service.
