Chinese Businessman Sentenced to Death for Murder of Nigerian Girlfriend in Kano

Geng Quandong, a 47-year-old Chinese businessman, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Kano High Court for the murder of his Nigerian girlfriend, Ummu Kulsum Buhari.

Quandong was found guilty of culpable homicide, an offense punishable by death under Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Kano State, and was convicted accordingly.

Recall that on September 16, 2022, Quandong fatally stabbed the 23-year-old victim at her family residence in Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano.
