If you’re a woman aged between 23 and 45, with a strong proposal and a female-led team, this could be your big break. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2025, but if you apply early, your application will be processed faster.
ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for this program, you must:
- Be a Nigerian woman aged 23 to 45
- Have at least a first degree
- Have a creative engineering idea
- Already have a team in place (must be at least 60% women)
The goal is to support women-led teams that are solving real-world problems using engineering.
What is Delt-Her All About?
The full name is Developing Engineering Leaders Through Her (Delt-Her). It’s a national program created to help young Nigerian women become leaders in engineering by supporting their innovative ideas.
The program has global inspiration—borrowing ideas from:
- Anita Borg Institute (USA)
- Girl Up! by the United Nations Foundation
- Applied Science Technologists of British Columbia
- But this program is made for Nigeria, and it’s helping more women move from ideas to impact in engineering.
BENEFITS
This is more than just a grant—it’s a full package of support. Selected applicants will receive:
- Funding to turn your idea into a working product or company
- Mentorship from experts in engineering and business
- Workshops and hands-on training to improve your leadership and technical skills
- Connections to industry leaders and potential investors
A chance to be part of something much bigger—a movement to help young girls see themselves in tech and engineering
Key Objectives of the Program
Delt-Her was built to change the future. It wants to:
- Fix the gender gap in engineering in Nigeria
- Build a more inclusive and supportive environment for female innovators
- Get universities and businesses involved in helping women grow
- Create a generation of role models for girls in primary and secondary schools
