Bomb Blast Kills 11 in Borno’s Konduga Community

At least 11 people have been reportedly killed following a bomb explosion in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The blast occurred on Friday night near a local cinema, adjacent to the Konduga fish market. According to members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), several others sustained injuries and have been taken to the Maiduguri Specialist Hospital for treatment.
Security forces have since been deployed to the area to secure the scene and begin investigations.
Konduga is located about 36 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. The explosion came just hours after the Nigerian military successfully repelled insurgent attacks in Gwoza and Kukawa LGAs of the state.
In recent operations, the military reportedly eliminated hundreds of insurgents, including some of their top commanders.
