The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State has formally concluded the service year for members of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1, marking the end with a modest yet meaningful passing-out ceremony.

The event celebrated the corps members’ resilience, personal growth, and commendable contributions to the state over the past year.

Speaking during the ceremony held at Eti-Osa 3 Local Government, the Lagos State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, congratulated the outgoing corps members on successfully completing their national service. Mrs. Salmwang noted that while a few corps members did not complete the service year due to disciplinary issues, the majority demonstrated integrity and resilience, qualities essential for nation-building.

She encouraged the corps members to put into practical use the skills acquired during their service year, especially those gained through the NYSC’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme. In light of Nigeria’s current economic climate, she emphasized the importance of self-reliance, focus, and innovation.

The State Coordinator further advised the corps members to uphold the core values of the NYSC scheme by serving as good ambassadors. She urged them to promote the ideals of unity, discipline, and patriotism wherever they go, while also steering clear of any form of misconduct.
