Barcelona seals 5-4 victory over Benfica in champions league

In one of the most exciting Champions League games in recent memory, Barcelona defeated SL Benfica 5-4 at Estádio da Luz.
Barcelona’s victory seals their position in the tournament’s Top 8.
The match began with Benfica’s Vangelis Pavlidis scoring a sensational hat-trick in the 30th minute, putting the hosts ahead 3-1. Barcelona’s only answer in the first half came from Robert Lewandowski, who converted a penalty in the thirteenth minute.
Raphinha was the star of the night, scoring twice. Lewandowski added another penalty to his tally, while Eric García also got on the scoresheet. The Blaugrana showcased incredible determination to overturn a 3-1 deficit.
Benfica’s attacking brilliance was overshadowed by Barcelona’s relentless fightback, with Raphinha’s decisive goal sealing a famous victory for the Catalan giants.
This win marks a symbolic redemption for Barcelona at Estádio da Luz, a stadium haunted by their infamous 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in 2020.
Manager Xavi Hernandez praised his team’s resolve, stating, “This was a game of character and belief. The players fought till the end, and this victory reflects their spirit.”
Barcelona’s triumph sets the stage for an exciting quarterfinals matchup as they continue their pursuit of European glory.
