Baderinwa warns Lagos PCMs against wearing uniforms for vulgar display on social media.

State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa has warned Prospective Corps Members of the 2023 Batch “C” Stream I not to use the NYSC uniforms for vulgar display or amoral content on social media.
During her briefing at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja, she issued the warning on Friday.
Mrs. Baderinwa said the scheme will hold to punishment any acts seen to bastardize the NYSC uniforms on Social media. While also speaking about the use of Social media, she warned the prospective corps members to avoid hate speech and avoid maligning other people’s image on the platform.
During a discussion on the negative impact of social media usage among young people, it was emphasized that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will take a strict stance against any corps member found engaging in such behavior. Additionally, it was mentioned that corps members who choose to give press interviews on matters relating to the scheme or any other issues during their service year will be subject to penalties.

The State Coordinator encouraged the corps members to ensure to dress appropriately at all times in the uniforms given to them. She said improper dressing will not be tolerated in camp and outside the camp.
On the statutory allowances corps members are entitled to, Mrs Baderinwa said aside from monthly allowance which is thirty-three thousand naira, a corps member will also get a local transport allowance and bicycle allowance while on camp.
She however stated that all services provided on camp are free, enabling them to be frugal about their spending. It is noteworthy to inform you that the 2023 Batch “C” Stream I Orientation Course Swearing-In Ceremony comes up next week, while the cut-off date for registration is midnight today.
