Babalola Sarah Wins Unity Bank Corpreneurship Competition

Corps member Babalola Sarah Oluwatobiloba with state code LA/ 24C/1982 have emerged as the overall winner of the Unity Bank Corpreneurship Competition in Lagos.
The winner emerged when National Youth Service Corps, Lagos State has held its inter-platoon Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship (SAED) competition for 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 corps members at the ongoing orientation camp, Iyana Ipaja.
State Coordinators Remark
In her remarks, the State Coordinator, Mrs Christiana Salmwang, urged corps members to continually utilize the skills learnt and also stressed its importance as a channel for financial independence. She encouraged the corps members participating in the competitions to continue honing their skills and strive for excellence.
The Head of SAED, Mrs Stella Nweke,earlier commended corps members on their commitment and steadfastness during the course of the training, admonishing them to make the best out of the skills acquired.
The event featured a display of skill prowess among competing platoons, showcasing the skills learnt from the SAED classes over the course of 9 days. The highlight of the event, however, was the Corpreneurship competition sponsored by Unity Bank.
Winners Announced
The Corpreneurship competition had shortlisted contestants who pitched their business ideas, and were made to defend their business proposals.At the end winners emerged.
Corps member Babalola Sarah Oluwatobiloba with state code LA/ 24C/1982 became the overall winner with a cash prize of N800,000. In second place, was Odii Oluchukwu Sophia LA/ 24C/ 1777, carting home N500,000, while Igiri Faith Hika with code number, LA/ 24C/4247, secured third position of N300,000.
Alongside the Corpreneurship competition, corps members enthusiastically participated in other competitions such as shoe making, bead making, and fashion design. Platoon 4 emerged victorious in these categories, showcasing exceptional talent and creativity. These, along with several other thrilling competitions, saw corps members excelling and taking home remarkable prizes.
At the end of the program, the SC declared the 2024 Batch C stream I SAED hands on training closed.
