Babachir Lawal Tells TVC Presenter to ‘Shut Up’ During Heated Live Interview

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, caused a stir on live television after bluntly telling a TVC presenter to “shut up” during an interview on the network last night.
The tense moment unfolded when the interviewer asked Lawal about his contrasting views on the electoral processes under President Bola Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari, under whose administration he served.
The presenter remarked, “Mr. Lawal, but it’s the same electoral process in 2019 and 2023, and the same administration you served under. I didn’t see quite much difference between then and now.”
Clearly irritated, Lawal interrupted sharply: “Give it a break, man. Shut up, shut up.”
His outburst left many viewers stunned and has since sparked debate online, with reactions ranging from criticism of his tone to support for his frustration over the question.
