AY Denies Reconciliation Rumours With Wife, Threatens Legal Action

Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has dismissed rumours suggesting he is seeking reconciliation with his estranged wife, Mabel Makun.
In a statement shared on Instagram, AY described the reports as “false, incessant, and insensitive,” accusing them of being deliberately manipulative attempts to mislead the public and drive online engagement.
He clarified that he has never made, nor authorised, any statement about reconciling with his wife, noting that he has the platform, credibility, and reach to communicate directly if he wished to share personal matters.
Issuing what he called a final warning, AY urged the public to ignore the rumours and announced that legal action would be taken against individuals or platforms that continue to publish or promote defamatory content about his private life. “Enough of the lies,” he declared, stressing that he will no longer tolerate false narratives regarding his relationship status.
AY had previously confirmed the end of his nearly 20-year marriage to Mabel in 2023, expressing regret over losing his home and acknowledging personal shortcomings during the marriage.
