Atiku Warns Okpebholo: Threat To Obi Is Threat To All

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the recent remarks by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, targeting Labour Party’s Peter Obi.
Atiku, in a tweet on Tuesday, said: “Let it be known that a threat against Peter Obi or any of us is a threat against ALL of us.”
Governor Okpebholo had earlier declared that Obi must obtain security clearance before entering Edo State. The comment came during the defection of Rep. Marcus Onobun to the APC and has since sparked outrage among Nigerians.
The governor referenced Obi’s July visit to St. Philomena Hospital School of Nursing Sciences in Benin City—where he donated ₦15 million—and suggested the visit was followed by unrest.
“That man who claims he has no ‘shishi’ came and dropped ₦15 million. Where did he get it from? After he left, three people were killed. Because of this, Obi must not enter Edo without security clearance,” Okpebholo said.
His statement has drawn widespread criticism, with many accusing him of political intimidation.
