Atiku May Never be President, Says Former Aide Daniel Bwala

Presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, has cast doubt on the possibility of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ever becoming Nigeria’s president, saying his time may have passed despite years of relentless effort.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Bwala, who served as Atiku’s campaign spokesperson in the 2023 general elections, suggested that the dream of occupying the highest office in the land may not align with Atiku’s destiny.
“There is my former principal who believes that he is going to win,” Bwala said while dismissing the chances of Atiku and other opposition figures like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi in unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential race.
“In all honesty, I have expressed my opinion that it may never have been destined by God to be a president in Nigeria because he has done everything he needs to do to be president and he did not win the presidency,” he stated.
According to Bwala, the 2023 election represented Atiku’s best shot at the presidency—a chance he believes may never come again.
“2023 was the biggest opportunity that my former principal Atiku Abubakar had. He will never have that kind of privilege again,” he said.
Bwala, once a vocal advocate for Atiku’s presidential ambition, switched allegiance to President Bola Tinubu shortly after the 2023 elections and has since become a strong supporter of the current administration.
