Astronomer Names Co-Founder Pete DeJoy as Interim CEO After Viral Video Fallout

Astronomer has appointed its co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Pete DeJoy, as interim CEO following the resignation of Andy Byron, who stepped down after a viral video of him and HR chief Kristin Cabot sparked controversy.
The video, taken at a Coldplay concert, showed Byron and Cabot in a seemingly intimate moment, prompting public backlash and speculation about workplace conduct.
DeJoy, who helped launch Astronomer in 2017, has played a key role in developing and scaling the company’s data orchestration platform. Over the years, he has held several executive roles, including VP of Product and Chief Product Officer.
While DeJoy assumes the CEO duties for now, the company has confirmed it is actively searching for a permanent leader to take over the position.
