“I don’t know where that came from, but agenda must agend. I get it, but I’m not bothered. I’m still here. I’m still playing. I’m still doing my job. That’s what I’m focused on,” she said.

The 30-year-old forward was named in Nigeria’s final 23-player squad and featured in a supporting role throughout the tournament.

Oshoala, who made her international debut in 2013, rose to global prominence in 2014 with a standout performance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup and was instrumental in Nigeria’s victory at the African Women’s Championship the same year.

She remains the only African player to have scored in three consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cups and now holds four WAFCON titles—2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024—cementing her legacy as one of Nigeria’s most iconic footballers.
