Apply for National Health Fellows Program For Nigerians (free monthly stipends)

To ensure the transformation of primary Health care across the nation, the Nigerian President has initiated a plan to modernize existing primary healthcare centers and establish over 8,800 new facilities in every local government area.
This initiative is aimed at providing accessible, high-quality healthcare services, along with introducing new mechanisms for social accountability. As part of this effort, the President has approved the creation of the National Health Fellows Program. This program will engage young Nigerian fellows in all 774 local government areas to drive improvements in the healthcare system.
Program Administration
The fellowship is managed by the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) coordination office under the Office of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. Selected fellows will receive training, tools, and compensation to support their efforts in fostering impactful changes in the health sector.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Age: Between 25 and 35 years.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, IT, or social sciences.
- Experience: Demonstrated interest or experience in public health, health-related NGOs, partner organizations, or community leadership projects.
- Availability: Must be willing to participate full-time in the fellowship.
- Residency: Applicants must be natives of the state they are applying for.
- Technology: Must own a smartphone with internet capabilities for tools like WhatsApp and Zoom.
- Recommendation: A reference from a University Dean, NYSC primary assignment supervisor, or a reputable organization showcasing leadership and character.
- Skills: Proven analytical abilities and entrepreneurial mindset.
Program Benefits
Fellows will receive a stipend to cover living expenses and support their active participation during the program.
