APC Chieftain Jesutega Onokpasa Is Confirmed Dead

Jesutega Onokpasa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly passed away. The prominent lawyer and political commentator died on Monday.

Pro-APC advocate Okezie Atani announced his death on Tuesday via his X account, confirming that Onokpasa was survived by his wife and children. He wrote, “We lost Barr. Jesutega Onokpasa, may his soul rest in perfect peace.”

A Facebook page named Renewed Hope United Kingdom also paid tribute to Onokpasa, with a post titled “A Farewell to a Passionate Advocate: Honouring Jesutega Onokpasa’s Legacy.” The post described his passing as a significant loss to Nigeria’s political and legal spheres. It praised his active role in shaping political discourse and his advocacy efforts.

The tribute continued, “His contributions as a member of the APC Publicity Committee and the APC Presidential Campaign Council in 2023 reflected his commitment to both his party and his country. Onokpasa’s voice, whether in support or critique, was a crucial part of Nigeria’s democratic dialogue, and his absence will be deeply felt. May his family, friends, and colleagues find strength and solace in this difficult time. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”

Onokpasa, who served as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in 2023 and on the APC Publicity Committee, passed away under circumstances that have yet to be disclosed. He was well-known for his political commentary and strong support for President Bola Tinubu, frequently appearing on television to defend the administration.
