Anambra’s Onyinyechi Basil Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

Onyinyechi Basil, the pride of Anambra State, has been named Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.
The 25-year-old beauty queen clinched the coveted crown at the grand finale held Saturday night in Lagos, surpassing 21 other contestants to take over from last year’s winner, Chidimma Adetishina.
After her coronation, Basil shared an inspiring message: “I want young girls to know that they can achieve more, and still celebrate their cultural identity.”
According to NAIJANEWSTODAY, Basil will now go on to represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe 2025 world stage.
The competition also saw Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, named first runner-up, Fortune Kurobo of Bayelsa as second runner-up, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, placing third.
