Amazon AWS Lays off Hundreds Across Divisions

The cloud computing arm of Amazon announced that it has laid off a few hundred employees from its sales, marketing, global services, and physical stores divisions.
“We’ve identified a few targeted areas of the organization we need to streamline,” an AWS spokesperson said.
It has been reported that Amazon has laid off hundreds of employees across various divisions over the past few months. These divisions include Prime Video Service, the healthcare business, and the Alexa voice assistant unit. This move is part of the trend where many big technology companies have been cutting jobs for the past two years, and it is expected to continue until 2024.
According to the tracking website Layoffs, a total of 229 firms have laid off over 57,000 employees this year.
Amazon laid off over 27,000 employees in 2022-23 due to overstaffing during the pandemic in the tech industry.
