Aisha Lawal Denies Venza Gift From MC Oluomo, Says She Made ₦10M During COVID-19

Actress and entrepreneur Aisha Lawal has opened up about her journey to success, crediting the COVID-19 pandemic as a major turning point in her life. According to her, she made ₦10 million in just one to two weeks during that period, a breakthrough she describes as life-changing.

In a recent interview, Aisha addressed swirling rumors that she received a Venza car from Lagos transport union leader MC Oluomo. She firmly denied the claims, stating that while she respects MC Oluomo for his impact on people she knows, the story was entirely fabricated.

“One man—whether it was a setup or he smoked weed—I don’t know. He sat down, set a camera in front of him, and claimed MC Oluomo gave me a blue Venza,” she said. “I didn’t collect any car. Why would I die mysteriously when I didn’t eat mysteriously? I didn’t even watch the video in detail, but I heard the part where he said, ‘Aisha Lawal, I am the owner of the blue Venza with you.’ Come on, put some respect on my name. I’ve suffered. I don’t even drive a Venza—I drive a GX 460. My shop is like the 4th or 5th building!”

Aisha also spoke about her humble beginnings, revealing that she started driving at the age of 16 and would often take night buses to cut accommodation costs while traveling for work. “I used to take the night bus to Oshodi from Abba, with my nose mask and face cap on. People saw me then but didn’t say anything. I didn’t want to pay for a hotel, so I would take night buses—even in vehicles transporting fowls from Abba to Ibadan or Ijebu Ode, before I started going to China.”

She shared insight into her family dynamics, revealing that while her father initially wanted her to study Theatre Arts, he never found out she became an actress. “My dad didn’t know I was acting before he died. I didn’t tell him because he believed actresses had children out of wedlock and unstable marriages. My mum never wanted me to do it either.”

Reflecting on her life, Aisha added, “Nobody likes anybody on social media—that’s what I’ve noticed. I’ve enjoyed and suffered in life like a ball. My grandma used to say, ‘May your days be rough,’ because someone with a smooth life wouldn’t live long.”

Despite the challenges, Aisha Lawal has built a thriving career and business empire, calling on critics to acknowledge the hard work behind her success.
