Afenifere Names Oba Falae Executive Chairman

The Pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, has appointed former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and traditional ruler of Ilu-Abo in Akure North, Ondo State, Oba Olu Falae, as the new Chairman of its National Executive Committee.
This decision was reached during the group’s monthly meeting held at the Akure residence of its national leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti. The group also reaffirmed its longstanding call for the restructuring of Nigeria, citing worsening insecurity and other national challenges.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, explained that Oba Falae’s appointment was made by Pa Fasoranti to reposition and revitalize the organization.
“Oba Falae’s emergence as chairman is aimed at reenergizing Afenifere and realigning it with the core values and vision of the House of Oduduwa,” Ajayi said. “The meeting extensively discussed Nigeria’s pressing challenges and concluded that restructuring remains the most viable solution.”
Ajayi urged President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly to urgently initiate the process of restructuring the federation to address the systemic issues facing the nation.
In his response, Oba Falae expressed gratitude to Fasoranti and pledged to unify all factions within Afenifere.
“By the grace of God, and with the support of our people, I will do everything within my power to bring all factions of Afenifere together during Papa Fasoranti’s lifetime,” Falae stated.
Echoing similar sentiments, the group’s National Organizing Secretary, Apagun Kole Omololu, expressed confidence in Falae’s leadership and affirmed that his appointment would foster unity within the group.
