Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027, marking a surprising political shift.

At a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Osogbo on Sunday, July 21, Adeleke—alongside top state party leaders including former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senator Lere Oyewumi, and Osun PDP Chairman Sunday Bisi—declared support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

In a communique issued after the meeting, the leaders stated:
“We reaffirm that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a true son of Osun. We, the Osun PDP stakeholders, hereby endorse his re-election in 2027 and will work to deliver him in our state.”

Despite backing Tinubu, Adeleke and the Osun PDP leaders also dismissed rumours of defection, reaffirming their loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party. They further declared Adeleke as the PDP’s sole governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun election.
