Pastor Enoch Adeboye has advised President Bola Tinubu that the Super Falcons coaching crew deserved bigger rewards than the players for their triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

President Tinubu had rewarded each player on the victorious squad with $100,000 and a three-bedroom home, while members of the technical crew are to receive $50,000 and similar housing.

Speaking during his sermon at the Redeemed Christian Church of God on Sunday, Pastor Adeboye praised the President for recognising the team’s achievements but argued that the coaches should not be earning less than the players.

The 83-year-old cleric, who said he was actively involved in sports as a young man, emphasised that while players perform on the pitch, it is the wisdom and tactical guidance of the coaches that truly delivers success.

“No matter how good the players are, if the coaches don’t tell them how to win, they may not be able to do much,” he said.

“You need a coach to win; coaches have the knowledge and wisdom required to win. If you don’t know how to win, you will lose.
